Monnone Alone came visiting in that great Steinbeck lover's style. Empty pockets, eating outta dumpsters and crashing on kitchen floors. October 2004. He came with half of a song and another great riff. We spent a couple of days in the kitchen recording these lifestyle inspired jams.

I grew up loving the story of my grandparents & great aunt & uncle and their group of friends who would all party & sing together. I always felt this was the richest way to live, joining together in song, and entertaining each other with music. A friend gave me his spare guitar around 1990. I started to write songs because I didn't know any. I formed a band because what else was there to do except to make music with friends? I still write songs, it's easier than learning others', and I try to capture some of what my grandparents and their friends were onto, seeing the recording as a snapshot of a couple of minutes spent with a friend or two.
